drJ clinics offer 532nm green light laser treatment for reduction of superficial vascular areas (red and brown spots) but note – this is only on offer between April and October. Dr Cumpston believes it to be inappropriate to provide vascular laser, or any light-based therapy in Australia, during months of high UV exposure as it unnecessarily increases the risk of hyperpigmentation.
