Dr Jeremy Cumpston, Olga and Fiona are away at the Juvelook Summit in Bali — an exclusive, invitation-only conference — from Friday 17 to Wednesday 22 July. We’re available by email at info@drjclinics.com.au and will be back in clinic on Thursday 23 July.

  1. Optional first step — the free 15-minute video introduction

If you are new to cosmetic medicine you can begin with a free 15-minute video introduction with Dr Cumpston and the team. This is not a consultation — no examination, no diagnosis, no procedure offered — but it brings you out of a public-audience context and into a private one, and it lets us send you specific written information ahead of any in-person consultation. Twenty places are released each week. No payment is required.

From September 2025, AHPRA's higher-risk-procedure guidelines require a stronger, two-part informed-consent process. The video introduction satisfies the first part for people who would value it; you can also skip it and go straight to the in-person consultation below.

  2. Booking the consultation

You can book an in-person consultation by phone on 0452 108 308, by email at info@drjclinics.com.au, or through the concern-led consultation booking page. We will ask for some basic information — your name, contact details, and the concern you would like to discuss. A consultation fee applies and is disclosed before booking.

  3. The pre-consultation form

Once your consultation is booked, please complete the drJ Clinics pre-consultation form online before you arrive. It asks about your goals, your treatment and medical history, any allergies or medications, and a short wellbeing check. The form is a regulatory requirement under the AHPRA 2025 guidelines for non-surgical cosmetic procedures — it gives Dr Cumpston a clear picture before you sit down together, and it forms part of your medical record.

    Open the pre-consultation form

The form opens in a new tab and takes about 10–15 minutes. Please set aside enough time to complete it in one sitting.

  4. The consultation itself

The consultation takes place in person at the clinic with Dr Cumpston. We review your goals, your medical history, current medications, allergies, prior cosmetic procedures, and any relevant social or family history. We examine the areas you are considering. We discuss the options — including the option not to proceed.

At the end of the consultation you will have a clear picture of what Dr Cumpston would recommend, what alternatives exist, what the risks and recovery would involve, and what it would cost.

  5. The written treatment plan

If a procedure is recommended and you wish to consider it, you will receive a written treatment plan. The plan describes the proposed procedure, the substances or devices to be used, the expected effect, the risks, the expected recovery and the indicative cost. You can take it away to read.

  6. The cooling-off period

For higher-risk non-surgical cosmetic procedures, AHPRA’s September 2025 guidelines require a cooling-off period between consultation and procedure. drJ Clinics observes this period without exception.

The cooling-off period exists so that you can consider the decision away from the consulting room, raise further questions if you have them, and decide whether to proceed without the pressure of a same-day decision.

  7. Informed consent

Before the procedure goes ahead, you will be asked to provide written informed consent. This confirms that you have received the written treatment plan, that you have had your questions answered, that you understand the risks and the expected recovery, and that you have decided to proceed.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time, including immediately before the procedure. There is no penalty for changing your mind.

  8. The procedure

Dr Cumpston performs the procedure in person at the clinic. The procedure time varies — from around fifteen minutes for a short injection appointment to up to ninety minutes for a more involved combination.

You will be given written aftercare instructions specific to the procedure you have had.

  9. Aftercare and follow-up

You can reach the clinic directly if you have any concern after the procedure. For routine follow-up — for example to review how an area has settled after a procedure addressing facial volume — we typically schedule a review two to four weeks afterwards.

There is no charge for review of a complication that has arisen from a procedure performed at the clinic. The risks and recovery page describes exactly what to do if you experience a complication.

About costs

Cosmetic procedures are not covered by Medicare or by most private health insurance policies. Costs vary by procedure and by the amount of product required for your treatment. The consultation includes an indicative cost for the proposed procedure, and the written treatment plan gives you the same figure in writing.

We do not require payment for a procedure before consultation. There are no pre-purchase package deals.

Cancellation and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule a consultation or procedure, please give the clinic as much notice as you can manage — we ask for at least 24 hours where possible. There is no penalty for cancelling within the cooling-off period or for deciding not to proceed.

What we will and won't do

A small set of policies shapes the practice. They are restated here in one place.

  • We will require an in-person consultation before any cosmetic procedure.
  • We will observe the AHPRA cooling-off period for higher-risk non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
  • We will provide a written treatment plan before any procedure goes ahead.
  • We will ask for written informed consent before any procedure.
  • We will decline to proceed where, in Dr Cumpston’s clinical judgement, the procedure is not in your best interests.
  • We will not perform cosmetic procedures on people under the age of eighteen.
  • We will not offer free or discounted procedures in exchange for promotion, social-media content, reviews or testimonials.
  • We will not delegate consultations, planning or procedures to associate practitioners, nurse delegates or telehealth prescribers.
